Visiting the Adiyogi temple had always been a dream of mine, and Sadhguru inspired me. His wisdom and guidance have made this place a must-visit for me. Sadhguru, who founded the Isha Foundation, describes Shiva not just as a deity but as Adiyogi, the first yogi and the creator of yoga. His insights have fueled my desire to experience this divine site.

About the Shiva Statue:

The Adiyogi statue stands majestically at 34 meters (112 feet) tall, excluding the plinth, and measures 45 meters (147 feet) in length and 7.62 meters (24.99 feet) in width. This impressive sculpture of the Indian deity Shiva is located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and was designed by Jaggi Vasudev, also known as Sadhguru. The statue represents Shiva as Adiyogi, emphasizing his role as the originator of yoga.

The Serene View:

The site offers a tranquil ambiance with breathtaking mountain views and an almost ethereal experience where it feels like the clouds are within reach. The statue's backdrop is equally beautiful, enhancing the overall sense of peace and serenity.

Night Show:

A highlight of visiting Adiyogi is the nightly show at 7 PM, where you can witness a captivating blend of music and aarti. This show beautifully illustrates Adiyogi's contributions to humanity and his teachings on transcending limitations. It explores the Sapta Rishis, the concept of Ardha Narishwar, and the ancient science of yoga. The narrative, delivered by Sadhguru, transports you back to the time of Shiva and Parvati, evoking a sense of blissful simplicity and profound meaning.

Conclusion:

After my visit, I truly felt that Adiyogi is a slice of heaven on earth. It’s a place that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
