I visited the temple with my friends from Bhukum, a distance of around 40 km. Opting for the freedom of two-wheelers, we embarked on a scenic ride through the countryside crossing Hadapsar, Manjari following Pune Solapur road.
Acknowledging the considerable distance, we made a delightful midway stop to replenish our energies with refreshing snacks, setting the stage for an enriching exploration ahead.
About the Temple:
Immediately upon reaching, we proceeded to the temple and performed a parikrama before exploring further.
The temple, located in the Loni Kalbor village on the outskirts of Pune, seamlessly combines elements of history, religion, tranquility, and nature. Shri Devipuri Maharaj (Dhundi Baba) collaborated with the local villagers to build the temple in 1970, using antiquity found in the nearby hills. The temple stands as a testament to their joint efforts.
Inside the Temple:
Stepping inside, we encountered a magnificent collection of intricately crafted sculptures featuring renowned figures such as Ramadas, Meera, Surdas, Tukaram, Swami Vivekananda, Sant Gyaneshwar, and more. Our eyes beheld the divine idols of Lord Hanuman, Dattatreya, Lakshmi, and Krishna.
The Beautiful Lake:
One of the most enchanting aspects of this temple was its proximity to a serene lake. The crystal-clear waters mirrored the azure sky, creating a sight of unparalleled beauty. We were delighted to spot a delightful array of wildlife residing in and around the lake – graceful turtles gliding effortlessly, quacking ducks playfully splashing in the water, and colorful fish darting beneath the surface.
The temple is situated amidst a stunningly pristine lake. In that lake, Within the lake's waters, we encountered turtles, ducks, diverse varieties of fish, and various other living creatures. The garden area of the temple was quite peaceful, where we could sit and enjoy the view.
